A landfill site (also known as a tip, dump, rubbish dump, garbage dump or waste depot is a site for the disposal of waste materials by burial and the oldest form of waste treatment. Historically, landfills have been the most common method of organised waste disposal and remain so in many places.
Some landfills are also used for waste management purposes, such as transfer stations or processing of waste material (sorting, treatment, or recycling).
Every Council has at least one landfill site so please check with them to determine what they will accept, the charges for disposal of material and their opening hours. Click here
